Tip #7: Stretching the Truth
Chapman Services Group suggests that a reference NEVER stretches the truth! When giving information on your work or submitting a written reference letter that is inaccurate, the risk is, well let’s just say…it’s like a bomb waiting to explode. You want your references to state your skills and abilities accurately so elaborating will do you no justice. Side note: if you are hired for a position that you are not qualified for, this could be extremely damaging to your career so keep your statements true and never stretch the truth.
