For some people, creating your resume is a daunting task; however, once you are done with the first draft of your resume, proofread it or have someone proofread it for you. The old saying having more than one set of eyes can catch an error is very true and if you have spent some time creating your resume, you may start to feel all the words flowing together. Constructive criticism isn’t always easy when you are on the receiving end; however their feedback is important especially if someone else is proofing your resume. Listen with an open mind.
Remember to take a break! You deserve it after all- this was no easy feat! Put your resume aside and do something else and then come back to it later when you are refreshed. When you go through your resume review, remember the following:
- Is your resume clear and easy to read and have focus?
- Is your resume compelling and intriguing enough to get an interview call?
- Is your resume free from typos and grammatical mistakes?
- Does your resume look professional?
- Does your resume fit the job descriptions you are applying for?
