When scanning resumes, HR managers say they look for evidence of relevant experience (77%), problem-solving and decision-making capabilities (56%), leadership (44%), oral and written communications (40%), team building (33%), and performance and productivity improvement (31%). The biggest turnoffs include resumes not customized to the position (30%), lies (23%), too many insignificant details (21%) and resumes over two pages long (21%).
