I just finished reading a post created by SimplyHired about keywords to include in your resume and wanted to share how they enable you to catapult your professional career. Since many employers use keywords to determine whether candidates are qualified for openings, why would you try to simplify and eliminate the keywords that enable your resume to be at the top of the list? Today, many employers, large and small, use an applicant tracking system to manage the hiring processes. The ATS scans resumes for keywords chosen by the employer. To make sure your resume passes the ATS be sure to include important keywords in your resume related to the position. Include powerful verbs when describing your experience, such as:

  • Managed
  • Improved
  • Implemented
  • Increased
  • Achieved

These words should describe your achievements rather than job duties and you should use numbers to back up those achievements.
